Invitation!

I just received an invitation from Blizzard with regards to The Burning Crusade, a talked about expansion, which is anxiously anticipated to be released early next year. As I opened up and read through the email, I found out that my mouth was smiling from ear-to-ear. I was invited to as a closed beta tester for The Burning Crusade!!! ZOMG!!!

I went home during lunch to start downloading the client and activated my closed beta account. I realize that it was a 1.95Gb file download. Man! Blizzard is so good at making you wait desperately. The anxiety of waiting during the download is like foreplay. Orgasm would be to view the loading screen after successfully logging in with your username and password using The Burning Crusade client. If Blizzard was only human, there would be so many satisfied customers. >.<” Not that they are not satisfied now; just that it would bring the satisfaction of playing WoW a whole different meaning. Hehe…

Anyway, I should be able to start my Burning Crusade adventure this weekend. Onwards Charger! To the Outlands, this weekend, we go!

WoW-Gold = RL-Money?

I recently had a discussion with a friend who was interested in buying WoW gold, which is illegal based on the terms and conditions provided by Blizzard. Remember the popup box, which gets in the way of your login whenever a new patch is installed. You will then immediately snort in frustration to get the box away by scrolling down the text and then followed by the “Agree” button. Yeap, you guess it! That popup box is the terms and conditions provided by Blizzard and by clicking “Agree”, you will have to abide by the rules which were set by Blizzard to ensure a certain level of fairness during game play is maintained.

I have received also received in-game mails from weird people mail-marketing their website for gold purchase. Sheesh! Coming back to the discussion with my buddy, we both did a calculation on how much gold is worth in our currency and it comes to an average of RM 0.50 per gold. Meaning, 1000 gold would mean RM 500 and approximate of USD 130. I have been using a lot of gold for my Epic Mount, both Warlock and Paladin. =.=”

Damn it! Now all I see gold is RM 0.50; I blame the people that sells the gold. It is starting to spoil my perspective of the game since I have started to become more gold conscious. GAH! I missed the days when I used to spend my gold like water…! T_T

Recruit a friend scheme

At last, I got my friend hooked. The minute he got his first paycheck, he has already been pondering upon the fact that should he get a copy of WoW so that he can play or should he not get a copy and not get addicted?

It was one fateful weekend when he was at his most vulnerable state. It was a dark and cold lonely night. Fortunately, he was spending time with his character, loving every pixel of it and stroking the keyboard gracefully in order his character to quest without problems. He could feel the warmth of his monitor and the gentle sound of mouse clicking. To him, his character was his sanctuary and it would be an eventful sleepless night.

Suddenly, his phone rang and the caller ID was ME! He was hesitant and fearful about picking up the call. Running through his mind is the fact that he would have to part ways with his character so that I can use my account to raid with my guild mates. The few seconds of his phone ringing seems like an eternity to him with thousands of questions and possibilities going through his mind. He snapped out of his trance and proceeded to pick up the call. He was about to hear the most frightening and dreadful news ever:

“Oi! Playing your Hunter ar? Questing or Instancing? I wanna go for raid leh… in about 15min time la, you go settle you stuff first… when ready you miss call me or something? Ok?”

“Err… ahh… ok ok… after 5 min you login la, I am hearthing now”

He pushed the end button and placed his phone close to his chest while looking his character hearthing to the nearest inn. He sat on his bed and then lied down slowly. He curled up into a shrimp-like-shape and tugged his comforter over him; it was one of his most agonizing moments.

That night, I received a call from him. I was raiding halfway but took the call nonetheless as I know it would be important or else he wont be calling me. The second I picked up the call, he said to me:

“Hey, how long ar if I want to transfer my character over? I cannot tahan already. I have decided to buy an account. … …”

I smiled as his voice trails off in the background. YES! Another friend into WoW and I feel like an advocate of Blizzard Entertainment. Another person has just become part of the statistic in Blizzard’s 7 million and counting subscribing accounts.

Sigh! This game is so bloody addictive… >.<”
