Nothing like a night out gardening…

Sunday is SG’s BWL raiding day and like most Sundays where raiders are available and free, spots are filled in quickly and there are no spots left in the raid. On most Sundays, I am unable to raid on timely manner as I have to attend to other real life matters like a Sunday family dinner and stuff like that.

So yesterday, BWL raid proceeded as normal. With enough paladins in the raid, I just waited for my slot if there was any available. Apparently I was quite late for the raid, approximately 2 hours or so and the raid was already halfway clearing through the mobs/bosses. Not that I am complaining why I didn’t get a slot, it just so happen that the slots are full and I was late for the raid. Meanwhile, I waited around Blackrock Mountain for quicker zone-in time, just in case.

Having 300/300 in Herbalism and 300/300 Mining, I would actually term myself as a Herbalist / Miner due to the professions that I took up. Eventually, I got bored of running around Blackrock Mountain; I went southwards and arrived in the Burning Steppes. I did some riding to search for ores and herbs while waiting for a slot. I ended finding some nice patches of Dreamfoil, Sungrass, Firebloom and Mountain Silversage. I wouldn’t say that the whole place is a garden filled with herbs but at least you have to dismount from time to time to pick up herbs. With regard to ores, I didn’t bother to turn on my “Mine Radar” and I also believed so because the whole area isn’t totally filled with ores. My main concern is after all herbs ‘cause I use a lot of potions during raids.

Suddenly, something struck me about getting a certain herb called Blindweed which is required for making Superior Mana Potion. This potion is a lesser version of the Major Mana Potion but helps in many ways and most important of all, it is more cost effective compared to its better counter part. Thinking about forking out gold for potions makes me shudder as I would need to do hours of mindless farming or instance running. It isn’t all that pretty to farm as a 33 holy / 18 protection spec-ed paladin.

So, after recalling some article and statistic about Blindweed overgrowing in Swamp of Sorrows, I informed my guild class officer and other paladin guildies in our paladin chat accordingly that I will be farming for some herbs a bit, and would require sometime to zone in if my presence is required in the raid. I was promptly approved of my status to farm elsewhere while on standby mode. I mounted up and took the grphon flight to Darkshire, rode onwards passing Deadwind Pass and arrived in Swamp of Sorrows. I spent approximately 1 hour or so herbing around the area and I find it is indeed be overgrowing with Blindweed. If I recall correctly, I ended up with at least 3 stacks of Blindweed along with some other herbs, namely Khadgar’s Whiskers, Fadeleaf, Liferoot, Goldthorn, and I was quite happy with the results.

Next target which is part of the recipe in making Superior Mana Potion; Sungrass! Hinterlands is what the wind tells me about the abundance of Sungrass in that area… Go Charger, go… onwards to the nearest Grpyhon Flightmaster and off to Hinterlands we shall fly…!

Hi Yo Charger… away!!!

Yippee…! Yesterday was an eventful night for Dreadpaladin. She is now riding on a Charger. For those that do not know what a Charger is; it is an Epic Mount for paladins. As mentioned in my previous blog, I was so close to getting it and yesterday, with the help from specific guildies which I would want to mention their names here for their utmost effort in helping me to tame the Charger.

It was in the middle of the night, after some intensive BWL raid, when I requested in guild chat to see if anybody is available to help with the last chain of the EM quest. After some persuasion and sweet talk to other guild members by Hellvivid (class officer), arigatou gozaimasu sensei-Hell. Help was offered and immediately we formed a team of 3 paladins, 1 priest and 1 mage. Everybody gathered outside Scholomance and we begun our journey to summon the Death Knight in a quest to redeem the Charger’s spirit and tame it as my own.

Basically, it was an extremely fun and quick run through Scholomance as we basically zerged the instance with 3 tank-dpser-wanna-be-plate-wearing paladins, a super-dpsing-polymorphing-but-died-twice-for-the-team mage and a partial-healing-but-always-shackling-and-dpsing-kuai-lan priest. Before we all know it (I think it was about 30min), we reached the room. We cleared the room to prepare for some rounds of spirit fighting and judgement-ing, eventually we faced with the Death Knight and brought him down.

Special thanks (In alphabetical order):

Alienz – the kuai lan priest that got screwed for fooling around… /lol
Aribeth – my personal Greater Fire Resist Potion alchemist, which is also a paladin /hug
Bingbangping – the mage that died twice for the team… thank god for Redemption… /cheer
Lightwalker – the hamsup paladin… /grin

EM! Here I come…

After about 2 weeks of collecting materials, I finally collected enough materials to proceed with my paladin Epic Mount quest. Yesterday, I did a series of them epic quests and the only quest which took the most time completing besides the material collection is trying to talk to a spiritual horse in Dire Maul West. Before I can talk to this horse, I would need to kill a treant like mini-boss. I was initially partied with a kind mage which brought me around and waited until I collected enough players to proceed with the quest.

After some time, I had a PUG hunter and 2 guildies to help me out with the quest. Everything was a breeze with a full party of 5-man. I thanked everybody in the group and proceeded to move on with the quest line. I am currently now at the last part of the quest before I am able to “tame” the charger which is supposedly to be my epic mount. The last quest requires me to go to Scholomance and summon some spirits. These spirits will then spawn a Death Knight which my party will have to defeat before the spirit of the charger can released. The released spirit of the charger later will then be claimed by me as an epic mount.

I am still waiting for a chance to either get guildies to help or gather a PUG with friends to help out on this quest. Anyway, it is just only 1 quest away from my epic mount and it is so close that I can sniff it. >:D

My first MC with SG

Last night was my first Molten Core (will now be known as MC) run with Sanctuary Guardians (will now be known as SG). Everything went well with all the pulling, tanking, dps-ing and healing. If I remember correctly, we wiped once before Domo due to a Core Hound respawn which jumped on us unexpectedly. After that, it was smooth sailing without much problems. I was lucky to complete another piece of my Lawbringer set, Lawbringer Boots.

During our Domo encounter, everything went well until the loot distribution. Finkle's Lava Dredger (FLD) dropped in Domo's chest and nobody wanted to bid on the item. FLD was on the verge of being disenchanted and not wanting to see the item go to waste, after the approval from my assistant guild officer, I proceeded to bid on the item. The item was called to be looted but later, my assistant guild officer messaged and said "Isnt a druid supposed to get the loot?". To my horror, when I checked back the raid chat, a druid bidded after me and since Druids have priority over FLD because Paladins have priority over Aurastone Hammer. FLD was supposed to be awarded to the druid.

I feel so depressed for making such a huge blunder in my first MC raid with SG which makes me have such a deep guilt. I have not only shamed the paladins for looting an item over a druid which druids have priority over, I have also shamed myself for making myself look like fool in my first MC raid. I guess this guilt will remain for a while before I can start to look at things a little bit more optimistic. Anyway, I wrote a song for J (the druid which was awarded with FLD and I have wrongly looted) which I posted in the SG forums. It is something which I can relate to so that I do not feel so depressed over looting the Finkle's Lava Dredger.

Sung to the tune of Lonely by Akon

I wish to dedicate this song to J the druid which I have so wrongly disappoint during MC last night...

Sorry, I'm so sorry,
Will you forgive me,
I feel so guiltyyy
I'm so sorry, I'm Mr. Sorry,
Will you forgive me,
I feel so guiltyyy
I'm so sorry,

Yo this one here goes out to all my guildies out there ya Domo was cool with his 8 bodyguards guarding the chest
Domo took all our shit then yesterday he submits to us and drops FLD

MC in the middle of the night and I noticed FLD was in my sight,
Could have sworn I was dreaming, but nobody bidded, so I had a take a little try,
Back tracking over the raid chat, trying to figure out what I do to make J so sad,
Cause after I looted it, then I knew it wasn’t mine

I'm so sorry (so sorry),
I'm Mr. Sorry (Mr. Sorry),
Will you forgive me (Please forgive me)
I feel so guiltyyy (so very guiltyyy) J
I'm so sorry (so sorry),
I'm Mr. Sorry (Mr. Sorry),
Will you forgive me (Please forgive me)
I feel so guiltyyy (so very guiltyyy) J

Cant believe I had a druid like you and always Rejuv to bring me back to life,
After all I put you through you still stuck around and stayed by my side,
What really hurt me is I broke your heart, dear J you were a good druid and I had no right,
I really wanna make things right, 'cause I really think it was mine J

I'm so sorry (so sorry),
I'm Mr. Sorry (Mr. Sorry),
Will you forgive me (Please forgive me)
I feel so guiltyyy (so very guiltyyy) J
I'm so sorry (so sorry),
I'm Mr. Sorry (Mr. Sorry),
Will you forgive me (Please forgive me)
I feel so guiltyyy (so very guiltyyy) J

After that, we proceeded to Ragnaros which is the last boss for MC. We did one try and called it a night cause many of the raiders were tired and our only raider with the soulstone has been used up. Re-clearing the instance to Ragnaros again will take time and it is something that we didn't have. Anyway, the wipe and not being able to down Rag wasn't much of a concern to me 'cause I was still dwelling on the guilt that I have wrongly looted the Finkle's Lava Dredger.

Introduction

As of this blog's date, I currently aged 24 (born in 1982) and a male gamer from Malaysia.

So lets start by knowing more about me, Dreadpaladin. Dreadpaladin (now at Level 60) is my first character which I played since WoW back in Nov'05. I created the character in Gorgonnash and I started this with a couple of friends which I know in real life. My first guild was Outcast. I actually went inactive for about 6months and left Dreadpaladin at Level 59, due to some internet connection issues. Then, I was kicked out of the guild due to inactivity and went unguilded for about a year. However, Outcast is now disbanded and is no longer a raiding guild due to insufficient players to commit to raiding times. Now, Dreadpaladin is currently guilded with Sanctuary Guardians, aka SG. It has been a week with SG and I find the guild to be extremely fun and lively with players from mainly from Singapore, Malaysia and HK. It feels great to be guilded again. =)

How did I come up with the name Dread. I am an anime fan and there is this one anime by the name "Vandread" that I actually derive my name from. In the anime, the world is a sucky place where Males and Females are enemies and live in different planets. So, being a mecha anime, there are robots which serves as the army and the codename for the male robots are called "Vanguard" and the female robots are called "Dread". The name of the movie itself explains the concatenation of "Vanguard" and "Dread" which in the anime explains why the robots can "merge" and evolve into "Vandread".

So, having male toons in WoW, I call them Vanguard and female toons as Dread. Hence, Dreadpaladin, you dont actually need rocket science logic to tell that I am of a paladin class.

I also have a toon named Vanguardlock (which I will most probably mention in the future).
